Thinking Positively!

Today's theme is "just blog about Two Positive Things…"

I love being positive!  And I am positively positive that it was cocktail hour 18 minutes ago.  I am more positive that I WILL be having my cocktail when I finish. And even more.... I am Positively positive that my positive outlook today will help positive things happen all week long!

So... Two Positive Things...

1)The universe knows niether positive or negative if you think something is going to happen or think often about soomething you don't want to happen all the universe hears is that's going to happen.  I know it may be confusing, but I always try to think that a million dollars is GOING to fall from the sky and land on the pavement in front of me LOL no really I always think about how well my family and friends are doing - the secret is the power of positive thought.  I believe it therefore it works.

 

2) I know that "The sun will come out tomorrow" and on a bad day we tend to forget that.  But after reading this post on Your Caring Angels:

A bad day at the office

I really have had a marvelous day!

Two Things on Tuesday!

First thing:

I totally love my new nephew!  He's the most adorable (no I am not biased) and cuddly little man on earth!  He's gotten so big too 13 lbs at 8 weeks! But it's ok.  I believe a chubby (not obese) baby is a healthy baby!  We've been taking him and his momma and poppa out on Sundays - the weekdays are hard for us and most of the little mommas family is hanging out all week, so I get to steal the three of them on Sundays!  The Sunday before last I went to church with them, then we went to a Barbecue Restaurant (OH SO GOOD) followed by a nice afternoon of spoiling both baby and momma - cause I can!  I love shopping for baby outfits - they are so cute! Oh! and have you been into Spencer's lately?  They have the best little onesies!  He got one that says "Back off Bi+ch3s! I only date models!" but momma and poppa won't let him wear it *sigh* it's sooooooo cute!

Which brings me to thing #2:

Church

I have always considered myself Episcopalian.  I like reverence, history, and structure when I go to church. Not sure why, I just feel that it's not right if I don't learn anything or feel as though I'm in a place of worship and respect to the God that I believe in.

Many people take me wrong  when it comes to religion.  I am opposed to organized - blindly follow the flock - religion for the most part.  And I study other religions (mostly Eastern Philosophies) I know, how heathenistic of me, but we are free people to think and choose and study how we feel we should.  We are given the choice to enlighten ourselves.

The Episcopal church is the only church I've ever gone into and talked to other people who feel the same as I do - and our views are accepted, even by the preacher. I just wish more churches could make me feel the same way.

I've been going to church with baby Jacob lately... two Sundays in a row now - yes everyone has been cracking jokes about my heels melting as I walk in - and as of yet, this nondenominational church has not bashed any other religions or philosophies or talked in tongues or tried to shove their beliefs in my face, they have accepted.  I'm pretty excited about it really - I get to learn more and not feel guilty about my current system of beliefs...  How odd is that?

My Favorite Food or Dessert

Interesting... NOT FAIR!  I like all kinds of things and once again I am hard pressed to choose just one.  At dinner the other night my brother said,"You always like weird things." -- he was referring to the sweet and tangy super hot and spicy barbecue sauce I was munching, but he's right.

I guess being raised in the south I have to say I love Southern Foods!  Gumbo, chili, fried and pickled okra, fried catfish... you get the drift.  For me the hotter it is the better it gets - especially Gumbo and Chili.  My mouth is just watering at the thought of a perfect bowl of Gumbo (hard to find here) That's it!  My favorite food is Gumbo and not just any Gumbo. Hot and spicy with shrimp and chicken and okra and sausage!

I've gotta make Gumbo for dinner this weekend!  All this blogging about it has just given me an awesome craving.  A true southern girl makes her own roux after all and it is a time consuming recipe!

Now desserts...  I like 'em all.  Ok well, maybe I like fried bananas in a rum sauce better than anything!
