Why Do I Like Firefox?
I am tired of Internet Explorer errors and crashes. No matter how many things I've got going on (I normally have at least 5 tabs and a few different screens and programs running while I blog) I have never crashed Firefox. Internet Explorer (IE) on the other hand... I have to copy a post before I save and continue spo that in the case that IE crashes, which happens way too regularly, I won't loose my post.
Also, I LOVE Firefox plugins. I guess my favorite plugins right now are the SHOW IP, Google Page rank, McAfee site advisor, and the Alexa plug-in. I have found that these plug-ins are priceless when evaluating SEO and site stats for all the sites I manage.
I've found that some sites that look ok in IE look awful in Firefox, so I've started by optimizing Blogdumps Blog Directory for Firefox.
Not to mention, I really like the Firefox logo!
So, click on the link in my sidebar and download Firefox. If you're a Blogger, I promise, you'll thank me later. I joined as a member of the Spread Firefox campaign - they've done some really neat things to help spread the word, maybe I'll blog about them in another post.

It’s a Beautiful Day
How's that U2 song go again?
It was so nice out today. We were expecting the wind and some rain, buit the rain never showed up and it was a sunny, warm, windy, spring-like day!
I'm doggy sitting for a friend of mine, two cute little mini-doxins. Our first night was a lot trying, I didn't get much sleep because they were upset but it looks like they've settled in.
Other than that, nothing really's happening here. I'm finishing my SEO work on BlogDumps.com and getting ready to start another project... adding all the newly submitted blogs. Sometimes I wish I knew more about php cause I could automate the script to add people and I would never be behind with that part of BlogDumps.
I know it's Wednesday, but I had such a good day I couldn't help but pop a nice bottle of wine. TODAY'S Drink -- a 1998
Windsor Vineyards Red Zinfandel. Soooooo good. Dry, with a nose of Earthy Fruit.
On Friday I have an appointment to revamp a website I've been working on. We're going to build a new online store, create affiliate links and self replicating pages for the sales reps. Sounds like a lot of work.. it will be, but I'm looking forward to the challenge!
Happy Wednesday Folks!

I totally planned on writing on my new blog more often. It's absolutely amazing how time flies when you're working on the computer. Read a few e-mails, browse a few sites, work on a few pages and bango-presto you missed all day and everyone comes home telling you what a beautiful day it was.

So, in case you were wondering what I've been doing on BlogDumps here goes:
I created site maps. I had to actually create 2 for BlogDumps Directory, one for the site and one for the blog. I found a neat site map creator plug-in for the Wordpress Blog that recreates your site map every time you make a new post and it automatically notifies Google of your new site map.
I found that Google Webmaster Tools are very helpful. The webmaster tools track how your site is indexed in Google and it's indexed better and more accurately if you have a site map. Hence my spending time learning how to create site maps.
I've also been optimizing the meta-tags located on every page in the main BlogDumps Blog Directory. I'm using a few free meta-tag analyzers to make sure that all the pages and category pages in the site are search engine friendly. It's neat to use the page analyzers, they read your tags, analyze keyword, tell you how many internal and external links are on a page, check your upload times, and let you know if you have too many links on a page (which is very important for the category pages in BlogDumps that seem to grow and become long fast) Using these analyzers I have discovered the need to turn a few single page categories into 3 pages - makes it easier for web surfers too.
While I'm optimizing the tags, I figured I'd do a little page work and make the pages so You no longer have to scroll left to right on the category pages by Relocating our Google Adsense above the left sidebar and content areas.
And while doing that I have created an new .css style sheet for the BlogDumps Main site so that when I decide to put in a fancy background or a new header I can do so in record time with only a few small edits and not having to edit every page individually - sometimes we learn by doing things the hardest or longest way first. I think it'll help with the overall appearance of BlogDumps too.
While all this has been going on I've also been working with Wolfbernz to track down stolen content and have it removed from the offending sites. Really, if you are a blogger, it's important the you read and understand the DMCA (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) What you write is yours, no one has to put up with other splogs or proxy sites indexing your content as their own. This content theft is a real issue and if you're not vigilant about tracking down the thieves, there can be serious issues with Google marking your site as duplicate content and removing your site or blog from their search engine.
Too much Geek talk for you yet?
Trust me I can go into more details for you on eery spbject I've talked about but I'd hate to bore you. If you want to know more about anything I've mentioned, let me know in a comment and I will gladly post all the specs in another post.
For now, Good Night and Have a Great Work Week! LOL
